Fueld Privacy Policy

Fueld Fitness LLC ("Fueld," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Fueld mobile application (the "App") and our website at fueldfitnessapp.com (the "Site"). By using the App or Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Fueld account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Password (stored encrypted; we cannot read it)
  • Name
  • Account creation date

Profile and Fitness Information

To personalize your training plan and nutrition targets, you provide:

  • Age, gender, height, current weight
  • Body measurements (waist, hip, neck, pant size) — optional
  • Body fat estimate (calculated, optional)
  • Fitness goal (lose fat, build muscle, maintain, performance) and sub-goal
  • Diet preference (balanced, high-protein, keto, etc.)
  • Intermittent fasting preference and wake time
  • Training schedule (days per week and which days)
  • Available equipment

Health Data

With your explicit permission, the App reads the following data from Apple Health (iOS only):

  • Steps and active calories
  • Sleep duration and quality
  • Heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Resting heart rate
  • Body weight measurements

Apple Health data is read directly on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework. We only sync this data to our servers if needed to power features you use (e.g., readiness scoring). You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Fueld.

Self-Reported Data

  • Weekly check-ins (weight, mood, adherence, notes)
  • Progress photos (stored encrypted in our cloud storage and tied to your account)
  • Body measurements
  • Workout completions
  • Active rest day activities
  • Meal logs (food name and macronutrients)

Technical Information

We collect minimal technical data necessary to operate the App:

  • App version
  • iOS version (for compatibility)
  • Crash logs (anonymized) — only if you opt in via iOS Settings

We do not use third-party analytics services, advertising trackers, or behavioral profiling tools.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your account
  • Calculate your personalized training plan, macros, and readiness score
  • Sync your data across your devices so you can access Fueld from any iPhone or iPad signed into your account
  • Send you account-related emails (account confirmation, password reset, important changes to the App or Privacy Policy)
  • Improve the App (in aggregate, anonymized — we never share individual data)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your data to train AI models.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Where Data Is Stored

  • Account and synced data: Supabase Inc. (Postgres database hosted in US-East region, Virginia, USA)
  • Progress photos: Supabase Storage (encrypted at rest)
  • Device-local data: stored only on your iPhone via Apple's secure local storage
  • Apple Health data: stays on your device — Apple manages this; we access it only via permission

Security Measures

  • All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses TLS 1.2+ encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
  • Database is protected by Row-Level Security — your account can only ever access your own data
  • Progress photos are stored in a private storage bucket with per-user access policies
  • We do not store payment information (Apple handles all subscription billing)

Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • If you delete your account (Profile → Privacy & Data → Reset All App Data + sign out, OR contact us), we will permanently delete your data from our servers within 30 days
  • Anonymized aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely (e.g., "average user weight loss in week 4") with no link to individuals

4. Sharing of Information

We share your information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Supabase (database and storage hosting), Apple (App Store distribution and in-app purchases), Resend or similar (transactional email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal obligations: If required by law, court order, or government request, we may disclose data as legally required.
  • Business transfer: If Fueld Fitness LLC is acquired or merged with another company, your data may transfer to the new entity under the same Privacy Policy commitments.

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or any other purpose.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — visit Profile → Privacy & Data → Sync Status to see what's stored
  • Edit your data — update profile information any time within the App
  • Export your data — contact us at support@fueldfitnessapp.com to request an export
  • Delete your account and data — use Reset All App Data in the App, or email support@fueldfitnessapp.com
  • Revoke Apple Health access — via iOS Settings → Health
  • Opt out of email — unsubscribe via any account email or contact us

If you are in the European Union (GDPR), California (CCPA), or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, you also have:

  • Right to data portability
  • Right to object to processing
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

6. Children's Privacy

Fueld is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@fueldfitnessapp.com.

Users aged 13–17 must have parent or guardian consent. The App contains fitness and nutrition guidance — not medical advice — and should be used under adult supervision for users under 18.

7. Apple Health and HealthKit Disclosure

Per Apple's App Store guidelines, we disclose:

  • Fueld uses Apple HealthKit to read fitness and health data with your permission
  • We use this data solely to provide personalized training and recovery features within the App
  • We will never use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, data brokers, or third-party purposes
  • HealthKit data is not shared with any third party other than the cloud storage backend (Supabase) that powers the App, and only when essential to delivering app functionality

8. International Users

Fueld is operated from the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your home country. We follow industry-standard practices to ensure your data is protected regardless of where you live.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
  • Notify you via email and/or in-app message
  • Provide a summary of changes

Continued use of the App after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
